PENN TWP — Two people were expected to be taken to the hospital by medical helicopter following a head-on collision Friday on Route 8 near its intersection with Airport Road.

Another person was taken into custody and was being evaluated for injuries after fleeing the scene.

Penn Township Police said a red pickup truck was traveling southbound around 4:15 p.m. when it crossed into the northbound lane and struck a red dump truck head on.
