The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh issued a severe thunderstorm watch effective until 8 p.m. Saturday for the entirety of Butler County and several other counties in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

According to a Saturday post from the service, the watch region could experience isolated gusts of up to 65 miles per hour and up to an inch of scattered hail.

The service has also issued special weather statements for regions in and around Butler County, including a special weather statement about wind for the Slippery Rock area valid until 2:45 p.m. Saturday.
