Joseph G. “Joey” Green, 59, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 18, 1963, in Butler, and was the son of the late Robert C. Green and Mary L. “Renie” (McEvoy) Green of Butler.

Joey was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

He was a master union carpenter from Local 922.

He loved canoeing, hunting, fishing, cooking and animals. He was a Steelers fan and loved spending time and storytelling with his family, especially at camp with his son, brothers and nephews. He will be forever remembered for his amazing sense of humor, and he was happiest when he was making others laugh.

Surviving are his mother, Mary L. “Renie” Green; his son, Hunter Green of Butler; two sisters, Colleen (Kurt) Rosander of Harmony and Kathleen Nevel of Butler; three brothers, Robert (Laura) Green of Butler, Timothy J. (Janis Covert) Green of Butler and Daniel J. (Rebecca) Green of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his brother, William “Billy” Joseph Green.

GREEN — Friends of Joseph G. “Joey” Green, who died Sunday, March 26, 2023, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2023, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023.

Private interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
