A person was flown to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a vehicle crash on Route 8 near the Dollar General, according to 911 dispatchers.

Calls for the crash came in around 5:05 p.m., with witnesses reporting that a verbal altercation ensued and one male was unconscious, dispatch said.

One person was transported to UPMC Presbyterian hospital via medical helicopter from the Butler Farm Show Airport, and another was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Crews were able to clear the scene just before 6 p.m.

Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company and Butler Ambulance Service responded to the crash.
