Concordia officially acquires Bethlen
The Concordia Lutheran Ministries community has officially grown in size.
After nearly four months of planning, Bethlen Communities in Ligonier, Westmoreland County has joined the Concordia Lutheran Ministries family of locations according to Frank Skrip, Concordia director of public relations.
“We feel blessed and humbled more than anything else,” Skrip said. “These are not easy times to be in the business of caring for others, especially seniors. To be able to preserve a 100-plus-year-old Christian mission while expanding Concordia’s mission and footprint — we are just really honored.”
Bethlen Communities, now called Concordia at Bethlen, is a faith-based nonprofit organization.
Concordia, one of the nation's largest nonprofit senior care providers, serves about 50,000 people annually. Bethlen serves about 800 people annually at its sole location, Skrip said.
