Fishers get an early start to catch trout

Dozens of people flocked to Glade Run Lake in Middlesex Township Saturday, April 1, for the opening day of trout fishing season.
Despite the weather prediction that rain and heavy winds would pummel Butler County Saturday afternoon, many people made it to the lake early to find a good spot to cast their lines.
Trout season in Pennsylvania takes begins at 8 a.m. on the first Saturday in April and ends midnight on Labor Day, giving locals plenty of time to fish their days away.
In addition to a fishing license, trout anglers 16 and older must posses a trout permit to fish for trout. A license can be obtained from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
