Darrell D. Harrison

A man accused of murder in Mercer County over the weekend was apprehended Sunday, April 2, in Nebraska, according to state police.

Darrell D. Harrison Jr., 27, of Campbell, Ohio, was charged Saturday, April 1, with first-degree murder following the death of Jayson Burns, 21, of Sharon.

According to state police, the Farrell Police Department was dispatched at 4:30 p.m. Saturday for a disturbance at Roemer Avenue.

Officers learned that Burns had been shot and was taken by witnesses to UPMC Farrell Hospital, where he died of his wounds.

State police determined that an altercation involving three men had occurred at the Roemer Avenue residence. Harrison, who is accused of shooting Burns, fled, police said.

State police asked for the public’s help in apprehending Harrison, who was considered armed and dangerous.

Around 2 p.m. Sunday, state police said Harrison was taken into custody during a traffic stop by the Seward County Sheriff's Office in Seward, Neb. He is being held at Seward County Detention Center pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
