Fewer than 100 without power in county
Compared to Saturday’s storms, Wednesday night’s weather was mild.
The Wednesday night storms left fewer than 100 homes and businesses in the county without electricity.
As of Thursday morning, First Energy reported that 78 West Penn Power and Penn Power customers remained without power and Central Electric Cooperative reported one county customer was without service.
Late Wednesday, the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh announced via its Twitter account that the severe thunderstorm watch has been canceled.
“The threat for severe weather has ended as the main line of storms move east of the region,” the National Weather Service said at that time. “The rest of the night will feature periods of light rain and cooler air slowing moving from the northwest to the southeast.”
