Local author appears at South Butler library April 20

The South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will host local author Julie Tulba at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20.

She has written three books with settings in Butler/Pittsburgh and is a librarian at Butler County Community College.

Her latest, “Red Clay Ashes,” is about the Vietnam war and is partially set in Butler.

Having traveled to more than 30 countries on five continents, Tulba’s experiences around the world have greatly influenced her, especially when it comes to writing. She will discuss her all-time favorite travel memories.

She will also tell the story behind the writing of “Red Clay Ashes” and reading from it. Books will sell for $20.

The event is free and registration is not required. Walk-ins are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
