Robert Russell Carbin, 83, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his residence.

He was born June 13, 1939, in East Butler, and was the son of the late Anthony William Carbin and Alberta (Knouse) Carbin.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He was a jack-of-all-trades, working as a contractor, and could do or fix anything. He could even ride a horse and rope cows. He liked to hunt, fish, build wooden things, do remodeling and gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann (Crouch) Carbin, whom he married in 1960; four daughters, LouAnn (Leo) Mohan of Butler, Diana Lynn (Larry) LeGrand of Butler, Melinda (Wayne) Fuchs of Slippery Rock, and Carolyn Gaiser of Butler; three sons, Robert Carbin of Chicora, Timothy (Missy) Carbin of Butler, and Tom (Faye) Carbin of Butler; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; a granddaughter, Cora; and three sisters, Dorothy Geibel, Helen Hilliard and Jean Black.

CARBIN — Friends of Robert Russell Carbin, who died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with his pastor, David Phillips officiating.

Private interment will be held in Butler County Memorial Park.

Military honors will be given after the service at the funeral home by VFW Post 249, Lyndora American Legion 778, and Butler Legion 117.
