Seneca grad captures three awards

Gretchen Koken, of Cranberry Township, was among students honored recently at the University of Mount Union’s annual Senior Recognition and Honors Convocation.

Koken, a Seneca Valley graduate, received the Outstanding Criminal Justice Student Award, the Kitzmiller Psychology Prize and the Maria Leonard Book Award at the convocation.

The Outstanding Criminal Justice Award is presented to the senior criminal justice major who best demonstrates dedication to academics and commitment to justice, and who shows the most promise of success in the field.

The Kitzmiller is awarded to the student deemed the most outstanding in psychology, and the Leonard is conferred on the senior member of Alpha Lambda Delta who holds the highest grade-point average.

University of Mount Union students were acknowledged at the institution’s annual event.

The University of Mount Union is in Alliance, Ohio.
