Richard N. Becker, 88, of Gibsonia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 5, 2023. He was born July 5, 1934.

Richard was the loving husband for 67 years of Rosemarie (Cummings) Becker; father of Lorie (Jim) Uhlmann, Judy (Paul) Becker Darling, Richard “Rick” Becker, Rosemarie (Patrick) Cunningham, and Bonnie (Matt) Dollin; brother of Helen Hixon, Jean Scheeser, the late Paul Becker, and Margaret Hoebler. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Richard was a man of faith, family, and fun. He served in the Marine Corps as a sergeant in the Korean War from 1952 to 1955. He enjoyed all activities running including going to races as well as supporting his kids and grandkids. He loved all things Pittsburgh sports and was the original Pittsburgh Dad. Richard often volunteered at St. Barnabas, and the Widows and Widowers group. He worked as an electronic technician at Spang Magnetics and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He loved being a snowbird since the 1980s.

BECKER — Friends of Richard N. Becker, who died Friday, May 5, 2023, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sts. Martha and Mary Parish, St. Richard Church, with interment to follow in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Sisters of Divine Providence 9000 Babcock Blvd, Allison Park, PA 15101, or a charity of your choice.
