James McClaine
James R. McClaine, 85, of Sugarcreek Township, died Saturday, May 6, 2023, at his home.
Born Feb. 21, 1938, in Seybertown, he was the son of Frank J. and Ada M. (Schott) McClaine.
An East Brady High School graduate, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served as a Specialist 4, and received carbide and rifle marksman badges and an expert pistol badge. After his discharge, Jim spent his career at Penreco as a machinist.
Jim was a member of American Legion Post 488 in Bradys Bend and VFW Post 7132 in Rimersburg.
Jim enjoyed taking care of his lawn, woodworking and motorcycle riding, and will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda (Larry) Convery of Kittanning; three grandsons, Jeffrey (Ashley) Biondo of Gloucester, Va., Larry (Susie) Convery of Bridgeville, and Aden Convery of Kittanning; and four great-grandsons, Cole, Brayden, Rylan and Riley Biondo.
Jim also is survived by two sisters, Jean Weibel of Queenstown, and Kathleen (Jack) Healy of Seneca; and one brother, Rodney McClaine of North Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Johnathon Biondo; five brothers, Charles, George, Ronald, Frank and William McClaine; and one sister, Ruth Libecco.
MCCLAINE — Friends of James R. McClaine will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.
The McClaine family asks that memorials be made in Jim’s name to Sugarcreek Ambulance Service, 2030 PA-268, East Brady, PA 16028.
