Carolyn Stutz
Carolyn Stutz of Butler, passed away at home from cancer with her loving husband, Ron Stutz, by her side on Monday, May 22, 2023.
She was born in Butler on Feb. 16, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian (Gamble) Wymer.
Carolyn graduated from Butler High School in 1969. In her teen years, she broke multiple swimming and track records. She completed Butler County Community College and Slippery Rock State College with her B.A., and associate degree in health and physical education, graduating in 1974.
Carolyn worked at Sunnyview Nursing Home as an activity director, then at a nursing home in Dallas, Texas. While in Dallas, she learned to hang wallpaper, which she did for more than 20 years.
Carolyn was an elder at Hill Presbyterian Church for numerous years, where her grandfather, Samuel Gamble, was a pastor. She then became a member of First Methodist Church, where she volunteered for several activities.
Carolyn was the beloved wife of Ronald Stutz, and sister of Sam, Dan and Randy.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack; and sister, Martha.
STUTZ — A memorial service for Carolyn Stutz, who died Monday, May 22, 2023, is being held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at First Methodist Church of Butler.
Arrangements are through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the YMCA in Carolyn’s name.
