Seneca Valley High School
The Seneca Valley Senior High School’s commencement ceremony was scheduled for June 1 at NexTier Stadium.
The student speakers were Peter S. Ko, co-valedictorian; Haihan C. Xu, co-valedictorian; Nguyen (James) Nguyen, salutatorian; and Virginia G. Fronk, speaker-at-large.
Peter Ko is the son of Soo and Jonathan Ko of Cranberry Township. He was the co-president of the Science Honor Society and medical careers club, elected senator of student council, and a member of the varsity tennis team, music program, and the National Honor Society.
He plans to attend Brown University and major in Biology on a pre-med track.
Haihan Xu is the son of Yuanquan Xu and Yan Zhang of Cranberry Township. He was a member and MVP of the swimming and diving team and a member of the Science Honor Society, Jazz 1 and wind ensemble.
He plans on swimming and studying computer science at Cornell University.
James Nguyen is the son of Huong and Hoang Nguyen of Cranberry Township. An enjoyer of calligraphy and croqueting, he plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh and study computer science.
Virginia Fronk is the daughter of Stuart and Victoria Fronk of Cranberry Township. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Seneca Valley Concert and Treble choirs, Seneca Valley Girls Varsity Soccer and Beadling Soccer Club’s Girls Academy Team.
She plans to attend George Mason University to play soccer and major in environmental science.
Class officers are Avery M. Flood, president; Aana C. Winland, vice president; Kate J. Glover, secretary; and Alexandra M. Krzan, treasurer.
Foreign exchange students are Chutpong Dachdee and Nora Rigler.
