Michael King
Michael E. King, 65, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Oct. 20, 1957, in Pittsburgh, the middle child of 13 children, he was a son of the late John T. King and Ida Mae (Weissert) King.
Mike was a graduate of Mars Area High School, had worked in construction since the age of 18 and was self-employed as the owner of King Roofing/Seamless Gutters for 27 years. Prior to his retirement, he also had worked for Suburban Insulation in Mars.
Mike was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir and was president of the socialites. He had been vice president of the Golden Agers in Saxonburg and a member of the Royal Grange 1972. He grew up on a farm (a farmer at heart), loved gardening and was known to be a jack of all trades. He enjoyed singing karaoke; steam engines and old tractors; and talking with family, friends and neighbors.
Surviving is his wife, Kathy I. (Delaney) King, whom he married Oct. 12, 1985; his siblings, John (Mary) King, William King, Theodore (Beverly) King, Mary Lou (Carmen) Muti, Martha Bogan, Joseph King, Mark (Amy) King, Janet McKnight, Elaine (Thomas) Pisarcik, Jane (Donald) Dillner and Mathew (Anita) King; brothers-in-law, Richard Miller, Robert Delaney and Bryan Scott Delaney; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael L. King; and his sister, Marilyn Miller.
KING — Friends of Michael E. King, who died Tuesday, June 6, 2023, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler.
Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chicora. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church Monday morning.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Sepulcher School, 6515 Old Route 8 N., Butler, PA 16002.
