Shepherd’s Coffee Co. is set to have its grand opening celebration on Friday, June 16, at Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market, 270 W. Water St. in Saxonburg.

Members of the public are welcome to join the celebration, which is slated to begin at 6 a.m. Friday and run until 3 p.m., where guests can enjoy some hot, iced or frozen beverages, such as coffee or tea.

The grand opening includes Shepherd’s full menu, a raffle giveaway, shirts made by Elite Customs, live painting from Art Spirit Studio & Gallery and more.

Shepherd’s got its start in 2021 when owner Jessica Michel opened a mobile trailer location, followed by a physical location at 796 Pittsburgh Road in Penn Township in January 2022.

“At our Route 8 location we do our own baked goods,” Michel said. “Everything is made in-house. We have breakfast, pastries and coffee. At the Sprankle’s location we will have baked goods provided by Mainstreet Bake Shop and we will have breakfast that’s made by us.”

Michel said Shepherd’s bestselling item right now is a cold brew with sweet cream, but to her, the business is more than just selling coffee.

“Shepherd’s has always been about the people,” Michel said. “We are thrilled to open our doors in Saxonburg. The close-knit community has already welcomed us with open arms and we can’t wait to serve the highest quality drinks to the wonderful people in this town.”
