Waltman Furniture closes in Chicora, consolidates with Kittanning location

Butler County’s “largest furniture store” closed its doors in Chicora on Saturday, June 3. According to salesperson Patty Hanky, Waltman Furniture Co. is moving and consolidating with its storefront in Kittanning.
The family-owned business was open for more than 70 years in Chicora, Hanky said. According to a post on its Facebook page, the Chicora store closed due to staffing issues.
Frank Waltman, the owner and president, was not available to comment.
Waltman’s father, V.F. Waltman, started the company in 1951. He took over for his father in 1982.
