Miss Butler County a finalist for Miss Pennsylvania
Maria Cade, Miss Butler County, was a top 11 finalist in the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition, and won the Preliminary Talent Award for her classical music performance June 15.
The competition took place over the weekend in York, and ended Sunday, June 18, with the crowing of Miss Central Pennsylvania Miranda Moore as its winner.
Cade congratulated Moore, in an Instagram post Sunday, June 18.
Cade won the Preliminary Talent Award on June 15 for her performance of Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma.” In a video for the competition, Cade said she wanted to compete for Miss Pennsylvania to be an advocate for people.
“As a Miss America titleholder, I advocate for representation and visibility for all,” Cade said. “There was a time where I didn’t see myself represented in the areas that I wanted to succeed in, and I want to make sure that no child ever has to feel that way again.”
