Bebe Rexha

NEW YORK — Pop star Bebe Rexha was hospitalized after a concertgoer allegedly hurled a cell phone at her during a New York City show Sunday night, police said.

The Brooklyn-born singer was performing at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan when she appeared to be struck in the face by an object, according to footage tweeted out by another attendee.

Nicolas Malvagna, 27, of Manalapan, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with felony assault, the NYPD told the Daily News. EMS officials took Rexha — whose real name is Bleta Rexha — to a nearby hospital.

Rexha, 33, posted an Instagram photo Monday showing her bruised and bandaged eye, writing, “Im good.”

Multiple concertgoers tweeted about the incident Sunday night.

“Absolutely great show ruined by a fan throwing their phone at @BebeRexha hopefully she is ok after that,” tweeted Alex Chavez, who posted the video of Rexha being struck.

Another named Ross Bernaud posted footage of Rexha holding her face as she was helped off the stage.

“This is Bebe Rexha being rushed out of the concert venue here in NYC after someone threw a (expletive) phone and hit her face as she was leaving the stage,” Bernaud wrote. “We were all having a hell of a good time and so was Bebe, we were all having a blast, I mean who would even do that??? We hope you’re ok @BebeRexha.”

Rexha is a three-time Grammy nominee known for songs such as “I’m Good” and “Meant to Be.” Sunday’s concert was part of Rexha’s “Best F’n Night Of My Life” tour. Her next concert is scheduled for Tuesday in Philadelphia.

The Rooftop at Pier 17, an outdoor venue along the East River, opened in 2018 and has hosted acts including Diana Ross, Ringo Starr and Billie Eilish.

Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes was detained this weekend for a mental health evaluation, following the psychiatric hold she was put under earlier this year.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department took the former actor, 37, into custody Saturday morning after receiving a call for a woman in distress. Eyewitnesses noted to the outlet that Bynes appeared calm in the presence of the police.

It’s not yet known whether the actress was released or placed on another 5150 psychiatric hold.

In late March, on the heels of another split from on-off fiance Paul Michael, Bynes was found roaming the streets of downtown Los Angeles naked . This incident led to her calling 911 for herself, citing a psychotic episode.

A psychiatric hold resulted and Bynes was released from a mental hospital the following month, moving instead to outpatient treatment.

Despite what TMZ describes as a largely solitary existence these days, Bynes is reportedly diligent about her medication and therapy. Prior to the March episode, she had been living alone but doing well, according to the outlet.

Bynes’ mother served as her conservator from 2013 until March 2022, with the arrangement having begun after the former child star allegedly set fire to a driveway. Following the latest incident, her parents, Lynn and Rick, are “deeply concerned” but said another conservatorship “isn’t on the table.”

Asked by the Daily News whether Bynes was released from custody or put on a psychiatric hold, the LAPD declined to comment.

Pete Davidson

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles prosecutors charged former “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson with reckless driving Friday, three months after authorities said he crashed into a Beverly Hills home.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one misdemeanor count of reckless driving against the actor and writer but did not release details about the March 4 collision in Beverly Hills.

“We believe that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious collision into a home,” the DA's office wrote. “Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision.”

Davidson's arraignment is set for July 27. His representatives and Beverly Hills police did not immediately return requests for comment.

Prosecutors used the high-profile case to highlight the “devastating consequences” of reckless driving.

“In 2022, traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have reached the highest levels seen in 20 years,” the office wrote in its statement. “This is an alarming trend that we cannot ignore. As a result, it’s crucial that we take all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold those responsible accountable.”

Davidson's latest show, “Bupkis,” debuted on Peacock last month.
