Jill Welsh, a member of the Letterheads group who first painted a mural on the Mars Area Public Library in 2002, recently repainted the mural, bringing the two-decade old painting back to life.

“I had the pleasure of repainting the Mars Area Library mural over several weekends,” Welsh said. “I switched it to our school colors.”

The library administrators were happy to see the touch up as well.

“We are grateful to Jill for volunteering her time and talents to freshen up our mural and save a little piece of history in Mars,” Caitlyn Boland, director of the library said. “We have the best community.”
