Meghan Bencic, a senior at Slippery Rock Area High School, was named Distinguished Young Woman of Butler County for 2024 by the organization of the same name.

Bencic will move on to the statewide scholarship program for high school girls, to be held Aug. 5 in Pittsburgh.

Bencic was one of eight high school girls from across the state who were chosen to represent their county at the Distinguished Young Woman of Pennsylvania state program for the Class of 2024.

Throughout 2024, Bencic will represent Butler County at various public events to serve as a role model and spread the organization’s message to “Be Your Best Self.”

Bencic is the daughter of Mike and Laura Bencic of Slippery Rock.
