Thomas A. Manuel (Tom), 61, of West Sunbury, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after his ongoing battle with brain cancer.

Thomas was born June 5, 1962, in Butler. He was the son of the late Thomas Manuel Jr. and survived by his mothers, Carol Kerr and Nina Manuel.

Tom worked for Concord Township for 14 years before retiring in 2021. By his side he is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Sue Stephenson Manuel. They were brought together on May 7, 1988. Tom was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Evans City. Thomas served the Lord every Saturday by playing in the God’s Country Band of Crossfire for many years. He was a locally well-known musician in the area, playing in bands with his friends and fulfilling his lifelong love of playing the guitar. Tom loved spending time with his family on the weekends by camping, it was his home away from home. He was an avid hunter, who looked forward to spending the time with his sons, brothers, nieces, and nephews on the family farm. Tom was a veteran who was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, and was a member of the West Sunbury Legion Post 243.

Thomas is survived by his children, Corey Manuel (Autumn), Shawn Manuel (Ashley), and Ian Manuel (Alexis); his brothers, Tim Manuel (Amy), Todd Manuel (Michelle), and Michael Manuel (Amy);, his sisters, Cheryl Eckstein (Rich), Cindy Gruca (Rick), Kim Pry (Jim); and his eight loving grandkids Carly, Riley, Elliott, Leighton, Dylan, Blake, Kamden, Kalvin and currently one on the way.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Julie A. Bryant Foundation, PO Box 1202, Mars, PA 16046 in honor of Tom.

MANUEL — Visitations for Thomas A. Manuel (Tom), who died Saturday, June 24, 2023, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Chance Kelosky of Grace Community Church of Cranberry Township officiating.
