Flash flood warning in effect
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a flash flood warning for southern Butler County, northern Allegheny County, eastern Beaver County and northwestern Westmoreland County until 10 p.m. Saturday, July 1.
Thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy rain with 1 to 2 inches of rainfall expected in the warning area. Cranberry Township was listed as the most likely place for flash floods in Butler County.
Early evening storms resulted in many trees being knocked down and blocking roads throughout the county, according to emergency dispatch.
Small small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage are the most likely to see flooding.
