A state police trooper in Indiana County shot and killed a man who was being pursued late Sunday night, July 2 , in Indiana County, state police said in a Tuesday news release.

During an encounter with the driver in the southbound lane on Route 119 near Tide Road in Center Township, Indiana County, the trooper shot at the male driver of Route 119, and he was struck, a news release said.

The identity of the suspect is currently being withheld pending next-of-kin notifications, police said.
