Prospect council focuses on flooding
PROSPECT — Borough council is focusing on flooding following an increase in rain during the past week.
“As everyone knows, we have had some bad storms the other day,” Brian Taylor, council vice president, said during a meeting Monday, July 3. “We’ve had some crazy storms that washed out some places. We’ve had water in places we never had water before.”
He said as of Monday, it has rained six out of the past seven days in the borough, which has caused flooding in several areas, including Prospect Place and Crown Hill.
Taylor told residents that council will be send help to residents with flooding issues within the next week.
Also Monday, council renewed its insurance policy with Anderson Insurance.
“We did try to bid the insurance out,” Taylor said. “They weren’t able to compete with the price that we had.”
Council also will have a $5 increase in internet service, going from $64.95 to $69.95 monthly beginning in August. Internet service is provided by Armstrong.
