Mega Cruise event has something for everyone
Whether it’s checking out an antique vehicle, a souped-up coupe or even a tractor, the annual Mega Cruise has something for every type of gearhead.
“We’ve had just about everything show up,” said Ken Shoemaker, vice president of the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department. “Everything from the antiques, to the classics, and even rat-rods show up.”
The Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its 22nd annual Mega Cruise from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport. Admission for show vehicles is free, while pedestrians are asked to make a $2 donation.
Proceeds go toward supporting the community event and help fund the fire department’s training, equipment and education.
Along with the car show, there will be raffles, several food vendors, a DJ, karaoke and fireworks in the evenings.
“We really want to emphasize this is a community event,” Shoemaker said. “We want everyone to come and enjoy themselves.”
