Man accused of killing aunt, mother found dead
A New Sewickley Township man accused of killing his aunt and mother was found dead in Beaver County Jail on Friday morning, Pittsburgh media outlets reported.
Benjamin Selby, 43, was found unresponsive in an isolation cell around 8:30 a.m. Friday and pronounced dead just after 10 a.m., numerous media outlets reported Friday.
Selby was charged with two counts of homicide and one count of kidnapping for ransom in connection to a June 24 incident that led to the deaths of Dolores H. Selby, 71, of New Sewickley Township, and Mary Ann Lihosit, 65, of Irving, Texas.
Police said Selby also held his grandmother, 92-year-old Dolores McClain, hostage at the New Swickley Township residence. She was found inside the residence uninjured.
The Beaver County Coroner’s Office was conducting an autopsy and the Beaver County Detective Bureau will handle the investigation into Selby’s death, according to area media outlets.
