The Butler Chapter of the North Country Trail Association will have guest speakers at its July meeting.

Nic Loiseau with the National Park Service will explain how the North Country Trail is connected to the parks service, and how people can sign up to become a National Parks Service Volunteer-In-Parks (VIP) with the North Country Trail.

He also will discuss the benefits of becoming a VIP, why it’s so important to track service hours and how to log volunteer hours online.

Lauren Kennedy-Little, regional trail coordinator for Pennsylvania and Ohio, will give an overview of the North Country Trail and will speak about trail management support, chapter relations, and general training and resources.

Valerie Bader, director of trail operations, also will be available to answer questions.

The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St., in the trustees meeting room.
