CRANBERRY TWP — A vehicle crashed into Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids in Cranberry Gardens Plaza before the shop opened Thursday morning.

David Ferraro, vice president of Landmark Properties, which owns the plaza, said the vehicle traveled through the glass and masonry storefront and stopped at the rear interior wall.

“Drove all the way to the back” Ferraro said.

The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. before the shop was scheduled to open at 10 a.m. Most of the other businesses in the plaza, located at the intersection of Route 19 and Brandt Drive, were not open at the time of the crash.

The female driver was taken from the scene in an ambulance, Ferraro said.

He noted that there appeared to be no damage or tire marks from the vehicle on the curb or sidewalk in front of the business.

Ferraro said the storefront will be boarded up until repairs can be made. A building permit from the township is needed for the repairs, he said.

Seats, counters and other equipment owned by the business were also damaged.

“Hopefully, the business owner has lost revenue insurance,” Ferraro said.

He said that type of insurance is important especially for small businesses because it can keep a business afloat during when such incidents occur.

“This was the very first building built by Landmark. We’re now in three states,” Ferraro said.
