Gala party returning to airport
The Passport to Elegance Hangar Party will again land at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport.
The glittering soiree will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 20, in two hangars at the airport. The event is associated with the annual Vintage Grand Prix held in Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.
Vintage vehicles and airplanes will be on display at the event, which will include a strolling musician, catered dinner, live and silent auctions, and premium bar service.
The marquee autos on display will be various models of the Ferrari. Other featured cars will include a Tucker 48 and a 1963 ZO6 Corvette, plus a Bantam Speedster and Standard Eight that were manufactured in Butler.
Regarding vehicles of the sky, a World War II Corsair, Hughes 500, C-123 and a Spartan Executive are some of the aircraft that will be on display.
Proceeds from the Passport to Elegance Hangar Party and all other events associated with the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix will benefit area autism-related charities.
