Water main break affecting Butler streets
Pennsylvania American Water crews are making emergency repairs necessitated by a water main break that happened at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, in Butler.
The water main break is affecting West Brady Street from Mitchell Avenue and Wilson Avenue to Wagner Avenue.
Repairs are expected to take approximately eight hours to complete, according to the water company. When water service is restored, customers may experience discolored water. Residents whose water is discolored should run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house, for about three to five minutes until the water runs clear.
Pennsylvania American Water also is working on water lines on Vogel Road in Butler Township. Work began around 8 a.m. and caused low pressure, no water and discolored water in the affected area. Work was expected to last approximately eight hours, the water company said.
