Traffic is rerouted off of I-79 northbound into Cranberry Township following a two vehicle crash Friday.

A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital by emergency medical helicopter in a Friday crash that closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 79 near the Route 228 exit in Cranberry Township for about 3 hours.

The two-vehicle crash, involving one motorcycle, was reported at 2:39 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 79 near mile marker 78.2.

State police closed the northbound lanes shortly before 4 p.m. and reopened the road just before 7 p.m., according to dispatch.
