Motorcyclist injured in Clay Township crash
CLAY TWP — A rider was injured when his motorcycle veered off the side of Euclid Road and crashed in a field on Monday evening.
The accident happened just before 7 p.m. near the intersection of Euclid and Claytonia roads. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved, and according to preliminary reports, and there was no passenger on the bike.
By the time emergency responders arrived, there was a wrecked motorcycle in a field beside Euclid Road.
“Looks like he got off into the grass and lost control and then went through a fence,” said Gage Ariss of the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department.
Units from the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department and Unionville Volunteer Fire Company were on the scene, as well as Butler Ambulance Service and the Pennsylvania state police. A LifeFlight helicopter briefly was dispatched but was called back before advancing to the scene.
There was no immediate word on the motorcyclist’s identity, the extent of his injuries, or if he was transported to a hospital.
This is a developing story.
