Adams Twp spends money, solves problems
ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Things are going to get a little more efficient and easier for the township police department.
On Monday, the board of supervisors voted unanimously to allow the purchase of a trailer for officers to move their training equipment.
“We do a lot of training in the department,” said Sgt. Zaliponi during Monday’s meeting. “Over the years, we’ve gathered all of this equipment … It takes three or four vehicles to get everything to the fire range.”
Zaliponi, who is one of the firearms instructors, says officers train at least twice a month for about eight hours each day. The purchase of the 7-by-14-foot trailer will help cut down on prep time and will allow officers to focus their efforts on training.
“There’s three hours of setup and teardown — now we can put all that time into training,” Zaliponi said.
The total cost of the trailer will be $8,080.
