Carl Cypher

Carl L. Cypher, 84, of Worthington, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Worthington to the late Paul and Henrietta (Schnur) Cypher.

Carl was a retired truck driver and served in the Pennsylvania National Guard.

He was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville. Carl was also a member of the Worthington American Legion, Happy Hunters Sportsman Club in Fenelton and the R.C. Men’s Club in Herman. He enjoyed farming and playing horseshoes.

Carl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sandra (Rearick) Cypher, of Worthington; son, retired Col. Kenneth (Beth) Cypher, of Emlenton; granddaughters, Sabrine Cypher, Ph.D., of Framingham, Mass., Mackenzie Cypher, of Emlenton, and Miranda Cypher, of Thorndale, Pa.; brothers, Edward (Dolly) Cypher, of Chicora, and retired Col. Ronald (Dorothy) Cypher, of Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Cypher and Larry “Butch” Cypher; and a sister, Jean Crytzer.

CYPHER — Friends of Carl L. Cypher, who died Sunday, July 23, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 119 Bear St., Worthington.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, 668 Clearfield Road, Fenelton. Interment is in St. John Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
