State police said Tuesday, July 25, an arrest warrant is forthcoming for an Ohio woman who reportedly stole a vehicle in Winfield Township after she was reported missing and endangered Monday, July 24.

The search for Sarah Hopkins, 20, who was missing from Cambridge, Ohio, began early Monday in Butler County after her vehicle was found near the intersection of Ridgeview and Moorehead roads in Winfield Township.

State police and several fire departments spent upward of four hours searching the area early Monday.

Hopkins and the stolen vehicle were located Monday by Guernsey County Sheriff’s Department in Ohio, according to Trooper Bertha Cazy, public information officer for Troop D.

Cazy said Tuesday that an arrest warrant for Hopkins can be expected.

Hopkins was believed to be operating a blue 2018 Chevrolet Silverado that was reported stolen from a garage near the search area in Winfield Township.

Local fire units were dispatched to the search area around 4 a.m. Monday and cleared the scene around 8:35 a.m., according to the Butler County’s 911 dispatch center.

Sarah’s mother, Pamela Trader Hopkins, said she was notified by police that her daughter was at Southeastern Hospital around 6:30 p.m. Monday. Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center is a hospital in Cambridge.
