BUTLER TWP — A family of five was displaced following an apartment fire Tuesday, July 25, on Old Plank Road in Butler Township.

The two-alarm blaze at 56 Old Plank Road caused the structure to be evacuated around 11 p.m. Tuesday, but all occupants — except the family of five — were able to return to their units, according to Scott Frederick, chief of Butler Township Volunteer Fire District.

“Two adults and three children were displaced,” he said. “The Red Cross was contacted last night.”

The fire damaged a second floor apartment significantly and resulted in some water damage to the building’s first floor, Frederick said.
