Francis “Buzzy” Mellish, 71, of East Butler, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.

He was born in Butler, on Jan. 12, 1952, to the late John and Ida (Stutz) Mellish.

Francis worked for Pullman Standard, then as a painter for Trinity and then Clair Boring until retirement. He was known for being a hard worker, devoted father, great friend and always being there for you. Francis loved being outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing, especially with his best friend, Ben Deal. He was loved and will be dearly missed.

Francis was the father of William (Diana) Mellish, Jesse (Brianna) Mellish, Jamie (Michelle Crawford) Mellish and Amanda (William) Snyder; brother of Ray (Joan) Mellish, Joe (Nancy) Mellish, Rosemarie (Charles) Trimbur, Clara (Richard) Fundark and Bernadette (Tom) Brockman; grandfather of Peyton (Branden Spare) Mellish, Garrett, Lindsey, Kayleigh, Brooklynn, Joel (Kristen), Riley, Isaac, Lucas, Tyler, Dylan, Justin, Aria, Harper, Zoey and Ryker; great-grandfather of Maddox and Lincoln.

Buzzy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda (Crispin) Mellish, whom he married Aug. 24, 1974.

MELLISH — Friends and family of Francis “Buzzy” Mellish, who died Monday, July 24, 2023, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home, entombment will be held privately at Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery.
