The Art of Business event aims to help small business owners

Jeff Harlan, founder and owner of Harlan's Elite Fitness in Butler knows a lot about overcoming life’s challenges — including surviving a heart attack at age 32 and living with Crohn’s Disease for over 30 years.

Harlan will tell his story of becoming a business owner and talk about overcoming challenges in the role at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29 at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave. in Lyndora for one of the Butler Art Center’s The Art of Business event.

”It's about the highs and lows of life,“ Harlan said.

The event is sponsored by Butler Coffee Lab, 113 E Cunningham St., in Butler. It will benefit the Butler Art Center.

Harlan said The Art of Business will highlight local business owners who started with nothing and worked to get where they are today. He said the event will also also explain what they have been through along the way.

"I'm looking to help people that are having trouble and are in bad place,“ Harlan said. ”I've been in every dark corner you can think of. A lot of it is going to be question and answer. I want to hear from others who are having some issues or what it's like to be a small business owner."

Tickets for the event are $15 and can be purchased online at www.butlerartcenter.org or at the door.
