Daughter looks for help for displaced parents
The daughter of a couple whose Franklin Township home burned Wednesday, July 26, is looking for help.
“They lost everything,” said Bobbi Jo Kumpfmiller, Tom and Roberta McGregor’s youngest daughter. “They got out of there with just the clothes off their back.”
The McGregors lost their home of 50 years when a fire started in their garage and spread to the house. Their two dogs were able to escape safely.
The couple are figuring out what living arrangements can be made. Kumpfmiller has reached out through social media for people to donate to her parents.
“I don’t even know what they need,” Kumpfmiller said. “I mean they lost everything, and we’re trying to figure out what they might need in the near future.”
In the post, Kumpfmiller gave clothing sizes for her parents. Tom McGregor wears big and tall measurement, size 2X shirts, 3X lounge pants, has a size 48 waist and a size 13 shoe.
Roberta McGregor wears a size 10/12, size large tops and bottoms, and her shoe size is between 8 and 8.5.
“They are such giving people,” Kumpfmiller said. “I’ll tell you they would give you their last dollar in their bank account. They’re just such good people.”
The family is looking for monetary donations, toiletries, pajamas, socks, shoes and “any daily essentials that you don’t think about.”
