SV teams show out in Western PA baseball league finals

Seneca Valley (based in Cranberry) and Seneca Valley North (Zelienople) both won their respective leagues in the Western PA summer baseball action recently.

Seneca Valley earned the crown at the varsity level, downing Mt. Lebanon, 7-1, as Paul Rebovich conceded just two hits and no runs over five innings on the mound. Brady Koziara, Zyler Freedman, Aidan Leiendecker, Miles Bowman, Kallen Durbin, and Jake Ebken each notched base knocks for Seneca Valley, which won its third consecutive title in the league.

Greg Parrotto has coached that team for each of the past two go-rounds.

Seneca Valley North took the JV championship by defeating Burrell, 7-0. Hayden Tharnish and David Cerra threw a combined four-hitter and allowed only one base-runner to reach third base. Seven different Raiders scored in the contest.

The games were played at Washington & Jefferson College.
