Sandy Snyder

Snyder

Sandy M. Snyder, 75, of Butler, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 2, 2023, while at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Butler.

She was born Feb. 8, 1948, in Sarah Furnace, Pa., a daughter of the late Phil and Ruth Snyder.

She was a graduate of Butler High School class of 1966. She had worked at Miller’s Shoes, Ron Bennett Photography, Lernerville Speedway, Operating Engineers Local 66 and Butler County Children’s Center for 28 years.

Her hobbies and activities included the American Red Cross for 30 years, South Butler VFD as a life member, City of Butler Safety Committee, General Butler Vagabonds and a variety of committees around the Butler area community.

She was a strong-willed, independent single mom who always pushed the envelope. She put service above self and offered a hand up when someone needed it the most. She was an avid collector of carousel horses and loved her hydrangeas. She loved the Steelers and would say Troy Polamalu is her one true love.

Sandy is survived by her son, Scott Snyder (wife Kathy Jackson), formerly of Butler, now of Albuquerque N.M.; brothers, Phil Snyder (wife Jodi), of Butler, and Glenn Weibel (wife Kay), of East Brady; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
