The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts.

Aug. 16 — Jose Cabrera, 31, of Bronx, N.Y., was arrested after police said they found 17.6 pounds of suspected heroin in an after market compartment in the vehicle he was driving when he was pulled over for a traffic violation on Interstate 80 in Findley Township.

Aug. 19 — Denise L. Platt, 31, of Butler was charged with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of children, misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence at an unsafe speed and disorderly conduct and two summary traffic violations after police said she drove a sport utility vehicle into a ditch with her two children, ages 1 and 2 months, inside along West Sunbury Road in Center Township. No injuries were reported.

Aug. 18 — Guy Bradley Simons, 48, of Chicora was charged with a felony count of strangulation, a misdemeanor count of simple assault and three summary charges after his girlfriend reported that he grabbed her by the head, smashed her head against a wall and strangled her at a home on Shearer Road in Oakland Township. He is being held in the county prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
