Schools and students across Butler County are kicking off a new academic year beginning this week. Following is the first day for each public school district in Butler County:

Seneca Valley School District: Tuesday, Aug. 22

Knoch School District: Wednesday, Aug. 23

Mars Area School District: Wednesday, Aug. 23

Slippery Rock Area School District: Wednesday, Aug. 23

Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District: Wednesday, Aug. 23

Karns City Area School District: Wednesday, Aug. 23*

Freeport Area School District: Thursday, Aug. 24

Moniteau School District: Thursday, Aug. 24

Butler Area School District: Tuesday, Aug. 29

*Students at Karns City Area School District’s Chicora and Sugarcreek elementary schools will see an adjusted start date of Wednesday, Aug. 30, due to ongoing renovations at Chicora Elementary School.

The delayed start at Karns City will not change the remainder of the school year for these students. All existing breaks, holidays and the end of the school year will remain the same as previously scheduled.
