262 county homes without power Friday morning

More than 200 Butler County residents are without power following a storm early Friday morning, Aug. 25.

Residents of Buffalo, Worth and Washington townships and Slippery Rock Borough saw the most outages, according to West Penn Power.

Power is expected to be restored at 9:30 a.m. for 102 homes in Buffalo Township. Restoration for the remaining 160 outages was not immediately available.

In Slippery Rock Borough, 48 outages were reported for West Penn Power customers. Worth and Washington townships had fewer than 30 outages each.

Central Electric reported the most outages throughout Clinton Township, with power expected to be restored between 8 and 11 a.m.

Crews responded to 12 reports of storm related damage to power lines and trees between 1 and 4 a.m. Friday, according to county dispatchers.

To stay up to date on outages and restorations, West Penn Power customers should visit outages.firstenergycorp.com, and Central Electric customers can visit central.coop/outage-center.
