Carol Barkley
Carol K. Barkley, 79, of Evans City, passed away on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, while under the care of St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars and VNA Hospice Care.
Born June 14, 1944, in Westmoreland County, she was the daughter of Edward Kuhns and Caroline Woleslagle Kuhns.
Carol’s employment included years spent in the Evans City Elementary School cafeteria, where she was a cook and served in various capacities. She also catered and cooked for campers at Slippery Rock Baptist Youth Camp.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church,where she supported and helped in the hospitality ministries. Carol was also involved in the Ladies Ministry and enjoyed their monthly meetings. Known for her cooking, she was loved by her family and will be missed by all.
Carol leaves behind her family, John (Wendy) Barkley, of Evans City; Mark (Janine) Barkley, of Zelienople, and Tim (Michelle) Barkley, of Evans City. She also leaves her grandchildren, Sam (Madelynn) Barkley, Sarah Barkley, Grant Barkley, Luke Barkley, Joel Barkley, Olivia Barkley, Alexis Barkley and Liam Barkley; and her great-grandchildren, Cole, Chase, Carter and Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; along with her mother; father; sisters; and brothers.
BARKLEY — Friends of Carol K. Barkley, who died Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. John Barkley officiating. Carol will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.
