Dorreen Desmond

Desmond

Dorreen G. Desmond, 84, went to be with her beloved granddaughters and family in her heavenly home on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023.

Dorreen was born Oct. 3, 1938, in a log cabin near Herman, Pa. She was the sixth child of the late Joseph J. and Margaret Boulanger.

Dorreen enjoyed travel, camping and making ornaments from beads, something she did with her sister Connie. With the help of her brother Rodney, she designed and built a playhouse for her grandchildren.

She loved treasure hunting and collecting things forgotten, whether items for a shelf or stories to tell of the past, her walls were lined with memories. Dorreen was best known for her generosity, sense of humor, uncanny ability to locate prize possessions at a flea market and selfless giving. Her impact on those around her was nothing short of extraordinary, she will be dearly missed.

Dorreen is survived by her friends Linda, Susan, David, Cindy, Kris, Kellie and Mikey, who got together every Sunday. She is also survived by family Patrick J. and Denise Desmond, of Maryland, Scott Desmond and Rachel Kraus, of Indiana, and Tina and Daniel Burnett, of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Allie, Shelby and Jocelyn Desmond, of Maryland and Megan and Jacob Burnett, of Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren, Cayden, Cambrie and Rowan, of Pennsylvania; sisters, Donna Schnur and Sandy Protzman; and in-laws, Candy Boulanger and Marcella and Raymond Desmond.

Dorreen was preceded in death by her husband Patrick F.; granddaughters, Marissa and Tiffany; brothers, Bill and Rodney; sisters, Margie, Connie and Dolly; two nieces; and friend, Frank Nagy.
