Pedestrian hit in city Friday morning

Emergency crews responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of North Washington and West Pearl streets in Butler on Friday morning.

County dispatchers said the female pedestrian was conscious and alert following the crash, but possibly suffered a shoulder injury. The crash occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m.

She was taken by helicopter from Butler Memorial Hospital to a Pittsburgh hospital, dispatchers said shortly before 9 a.m.

Butler Ambulance Service, Butler City Bureau of Fire and the Butler police department responded to the crash.
