Melody Bish
Melody Ann Bish, of Sugarcreek Township, formerly of New Jersey, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at the age of 58, in Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, in the arms of her loving mother.
She was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 1964, in Kittanning, Pa., to Robert Elzie Bish and Shirley (Campbell) Bish. She was a member of West Glade Run Presbyterian Church. She was a gentle soul who studied her Bible and had many interesting conversations with her mother pertaining to it.
Melody was a 1982 graduate of East Brady High School and received her bachelor of arts and master’s degree in history from the University of Pittsburgh. She was employed at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School in the admissions office and EPA Emergency Physicians of New Jersey, where she staffed emergency room physicians. She was an avid reader and a Civil War history buff who loved visiting Gettysburg.
Melody loved sports, especially football and basketball. She played softball in high school. She was taught to hunt and fish by her dad and treasured the memories she made with him doing what they both loved and continued to fish throughout her life. She enjoyed antiquing and vacationing with her mother and aunts, Betty and Jane, whom she loved dearly.
Melody is survived by her loving mother, Shirley Bish; an uncle; and many aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; her maternal grandparents, John and Hanna Campbell; and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Nellie Bish.
